Who is therapy beneficial for?
Therapy is beneficial for anybody who would like to make significant changes in their life.
How can therapy help me?
Typical therapeutic goals include: improved quality of life (experiencing greater joy on a daily basis), improved interpersonal communication, improved relationships with family and spouses, and the resolution of symptoms related to, but not limited to, depression, anxiety, and general feelings of stress.
Will I have to do therapy sessions forever?
It takes years to develop maladaptive patterns and related psychological symptoms. It can take time to unwind these patterns. While treatment duration varies from individual to individual, a typical course of treatment is usually no less than four to six months.
Will our sessions be confidential?
Yes, our therapy sessions will be confidential, except in circumstances of self-harm or harm to others.
What can I expect from our first session?
You can expect the first session to involve an extensive line of questioning. These questions include but will not be limited to, childhood development, interpersonal relationships, familial relationships, history of romantic relationships, pertinent cyclical maladaptive patterns, and family history.
Do you accept insurance?
No. We do not accept insurance. Payment can be by check or cash or credit card. Health insurance policies usually provide some coverage for mental health outpatient treatment. I will provide you with whatever assistance I can in helping you receive the benefits to which you are entitled; however, you are responsible for full payment of my fees. It is very important that you find out exactly what mental health services your insurance policy covers.
